As usual the CA Final Results created a bell curve of happiness for the candidates. There are Rank-holders, First attempts, one group cleared and now a CA or one group cleared and none cleared, now waiting for May 2019 to write the exam again.
It is a matter of great pride that it’s a son of a tailor from Kota Rajasthan, Shadab Hussain, who topped CA exam in first attempt with a whopping 75% score. Speaks volumes about how this course empowers the not so economically fortunate class in India
Like commodity prices, there is often a spike in CA Final Pass %. The trick is to stay invested and swim with the tide
Its 14,969 new CAs, ~50% more than the usual average
Was it a generous ICAI or more sincere students, that only time will tell!
For candidates who appeared for both groups, ~41% candidates have some reason for happiness. They have cleared either one or both groups.
For those who took only one group, trends again witnessed a huge spike
CA Foundation Level
Not sure why the results for CA Foundation spiked to 44% from 19% last term. Not sure how strong is the filtering process. Or is it that the candidates became more sincere J
In the ICAI Campus process in Aug/Sep’18, 1593 jobs by 111 companies were offered (Highest CTC of INR 22.62 lacs p.a. for Domestic and INR 35 lacs p.a. for International) 
So , if we extrapolate that to the current lot, ~10% of the cohort can be placed through campus.
The rest, who opt for industry, are absorbed in the off campus processes through direct applications and through agencies like cajobportal.com

Trend in CA Final Pass % for Both Groups
Since Nov’16, ICAI has started reporting the number of candidates who appeared for both groups and cleared both/one of them. The data is as follows

Thus 4,053/15,969 = ~27% of the CAs who qualified this term were those who took both groups and cleared them in single sitting. The ones who achieved this feat in the first attempt will be a tad lower than this
