Our start up cajobportal.com was launched in August 2013 as India’s first recruitment website exclusively for Chartered Accountants.
During interaction with CA freshers, we realized that ~ 30% of them could ace jobs in the competitive ICAI’s campus placement process. The rest lacked on communication skills, took multiple attempts etc. Some of them relied on friends and relatives to channelize resumes and even the conventional consultants had no specific focus on this space. This led to the genesis of cajobportal.com in Aug’13.
We aim to create a vibrant online marketplace for finance human capital. This would catering to full-time (private and public sector) jobs as well as freelance projects for finance professionals
Sonia Singal, aged 29, is a Chartered Accountant and MS-Finance. Prior to engaging with cajobportal.com, she has worked with Deloitte, Hyderabad in the consulting practice. She is the co-founder and heads the entire operations.
Ayush Agarwal, aged 25, is a Commerce graduated and has completed his CA Industrial Training from Hindustan Unilever Ltd. He would be taking his CA Final exams shortly.
‘All Women’, \’Work from Home\’ setup
Attracting employees to a start-up is tough. Since we have been bootstrapping, it becomes all the more challenging as we really cannot afford to offer fancy salaries. The awareness in general about start-ups is low and young people don’t know what to expect. For instance, people often judge a company by its ‘posh office’, or working environment, which we didn’t have to offer. The major challenge was finding a person with motivation to work in a startup along with the requisite skillsets. With our clients being the Unilevers and HDFC Banks of the world, we really had to ensure that quality does not go for a toss for want of talent
We offered an ‘All Women’, \’Work from Home\’ setup. Our own employees have been working in an Office w/o Boundaries @ cajobportal.com. It’s cheaper, more comfortable and relaxed, and it really creates a feeling of community.
Girls, in different parts of the country, who, need to stay at home for various personal reasons and work in trust on our cloud based collaborative platform.
Take the cases where a commerce graduate need to stay at home as her father is suffering from cancer; an MBA whose husband is posted in a spices plantation in remote location at Kerala with no job avenues for herself; a CA, CS & FRM who needs to take care of family after untimely demise of her mother etc.

In fact, they are even marked late for not logging in on time, 3 lates resulting in one leave. They are assigned their respective deliverables for the day, be it social media activities for cajobportal or recruitment projects. They chat in real time to clarify any doubts.
This setup has helped us not only save costs but also allows us to work on ‘bandhs’ which are so prevalent in this part of the country.
