This week, after one of those typical husband-wife fights, Anurag thought of an interesting method to win back my smile. He changed the password of his banking account so as to contain “Soniaisamazing@Only16!!”. Then he created a context where I had to ask him for the password. When I heard the phrase, Soniaisamazing@Only16!!, I instantly smiled and forgot the little skirmish and things were normal
Winning in relationships is often so easy if you are willing to subjugate the self and do a little “oiling”
Does “oiling” pay in the corporate world-? It goes without saying that we are humans and bound to display some bias at some point in time
Making the boss feel ‘ good about himself/herself’ can have its own set of rewards – be it ease of daily work life or promotions at the year end
The caveat also is that ‘oiling for a while’ is nice, but if someone only ‘oils’ but doesn’t work or provide ideas/solutions, it grows tiresome pretty quickly.
